It is important to set up a representative Innovation and Technology Centre (gtz) with outstanding infrastructure for creating new business. The young enterprises should also enjoy personal advice and guidance. The Business and Economic Development Company of the City of Rheinbach (wfeg) considers technological information to be a raw material, which should be available at any time.

As a modern service provider the wfeg offers economical, well equipped office, lab and workhall areas. In addition we are concerned with the solution of problems at all stages of business development.

Information concerning possible subsidies is an important feature of our support function. The answers to detailed questions and the development of individual business plans occur in co-operation with experts operating in the market. On the west side of the Rhine the wfeg has a mediator function as contact location for the "consulting programme for business" (RKW).

A study carried out by the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich clarifies how important the "supporting-programme" for a successful start into independence is: During this empirical investigation 180.000 enterprises were considered.
